Special General Meeting

The Central City committee is calling for a Special General Meeting on Monday, May 4th  to vote on accepting amendments to the constitution.

The required amendments are minor, but necessary to ensure that we have a constitution that meets the requirements of the Incorporated Societies Act.

A summary of the changes to the constitution are as follows:

Section - Purpose of the Society:

  • Removed the clause: provides benefits to Members or their families to alleviate hardship,
  • Removed the clause: on removal of the Society from the Register of Incorporated Societies having its surplus assets distributed under subpart 5 of Part 5 of the Act to a Member that is a not-for-profit entity.

 

Section - Surplus Assets:

  • Amendment: different not-for-profit changed to different not-for-profit sporting entity or registered charity

 

Section - Amending this constitution:

  • Added the clause: No addition to, deletion from or alteration of the organisation’s rules shall be made which would allow personal financial gain to any individuals. The provisions and effect of this clause shall not be removed from this document and shall be included and implied into any document replacing this document.
